Richard Lamar Forand, age 79, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024. He was born October 28, 1944 in Jacksonville, Florida. Richard proudly served his country as a Veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. He was focused on family and being a great provider. Richard was a devoted husband and a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He had a long career with AT&T as an IT Manager, and he always loved learning new things on his own. Richard was one of the first people to own a personal computer. He had a whole wall of aquariums. A quiet man, but a very funny person, Richard had a good sense of humor and was quite inventive. In his spare time, he enjoyed grilling, and was into gardening plants and vegetables.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Henrio and Dorothy (Felton) Forand.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 59 years, Jo Anne (Johnson) Forand; daughter, Janet Knowles (Keith); son, Richard Allen Forand (Deborah); grandchildren, Kathleen Hair (Jackson), Amber Wix and Vincent Forand; great-grandchildren, Karson, Ava and Willow; as well as numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
