Mr. Richard Whiting, age 69, of Douglasville, passed away on December 24, 2015 at a local hospital. Mr. Whiting was born on August 31, 1946, the son of Katherine Robinson Whiting and the late Richard Myron Whiting. Mr. Whiting proudly served in the United States Navy and was an avid motorcyclist having ridden thru Mexico.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Holli & Eric Davenport of Villa Rica, GA. His mother, Mrs. Katherine R. Whiting. One granddaughter, Myia.
Memorial services for Mr. Whiting will be conducted on Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. from the Rosehaven Chapel of Whitley-Garner Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Mallory officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The God's Child Project for the Casa Jackson Program for Guatemala, www.godschild.org
