I am just now learning of the passing of Mr. V. I have fond memories of him from Douglasville SDA school. I was in class with his kids, Julie and Todd. He was funny!! Always had a smile on his face and treated  me with kindness and respect! I’ll never forget him for that. 
Though late, my condolences go out to the family. 

The doane man got onto me because I did not add a memory in this book. so I was thinking of my memories of Mr. V and one struck me as very important and that was whenever I came to the house he never left that recliner he was always in that recliner that was my memories of him being in that recliner. Cecelia feeding him in the recliner watching movies in the recliner. Maybe he should be buried in the recliner. (Ha). Loved Mr. V and I hope to see him very very soon praise God that we have this hope for our love ones. hugs to the family love you all very much

I first met Ronnie 58 years ago. We became instant friends on that very first Tennessee day in September of 1963. There was something special about him … he had a magnetic personality that was undeniably rare and genuine.  He was the type of person who made others feel good just to be around him.  God did me a special favor when Ronnie and I became friends.  Ronnie and his brother Bennie Ray are the best friends I've ever had and I thank God for their friendship over the years.
  
I will miss my dear friend but will forever treasure the wonderful memories.  One, in particular, stands out … I could pitch a ball really hard back then … but Ronnie could hit it even harder -- !!  And he never let me forget it either -- but I've enjoyed it every time he's reminded me of the home runs, especially one, he hit off me.  He wasn't bragging … just teasing … !! 
  
I remember the day when Ronnie and Cecilia started dating in college.  She was a God-sent miracle that made his life complete. This picture of the two of them looking into each other's eyes in August 1967 while holding our 3-week-old daughter shows just how special their love was for each other - and it was a special love that lasted 53 years.   
  
Ronnie's desire was to walk in the footsteps of Jesus while holding his precious Cecilia and children tight.  Tears flowed reading the comments of others on Facebook and this tribute page … His footprints touched many lives over the years -- It's good to see that he never changed from that very first day in September 1963 -- !!   
  
May God wrap His loving arms around his family and friends and give all of us who knew and loved Ronnie the strength needed to face the empty days ahead.  
  
"Marvin, do you remember the day you threw me that fastball? -- !!"  



What a great loss. Mr. V, as so many of us knew him, still and will always hold a special place in our hearts. As a young girl, I looked up to him as a special fatherly figure. He earned my respect with honesty and always willing to offer advice and a hug. I always felt safe with him and his words were always encouraging. 

I look forward to seeing Mr. V again one day soon in heaven.

My memories spent with you and Ron will always be dear to me. 
I will miss him when I come over and when we take Garden Club trips. Ron was greatly loved by Hal and me. Our hearts will have a emptiness that will not be filled until we meet him in the clouds when Christ comes.  Oh what a day that will be! Our prayers and thoughts are with you. Love you much!

I have a lot of fond memories of Mr V.  He was always laughing and smiling and always loved his family. That's one thing I remember the most is how much he loved his children and respected his wife. I always looked up to him for that. I remember they took us on her 8th grade trip to Disney World and we had an awesome time filled with lifetime memories. I know it's hard because I'm going through it right now myself with my mom just passing. She was the one that got me in you coming to SDA. If you guys need anything please let me know may your days be blessed and let's all look up to Jesus. Love Michelle and furbabies max n lilly 

To Cecilia and family- We were so sorry to hear about Ron. We loved having you, Ron, and the kids in our church and school family and as precious friends. We worked hard even during our free time and enjoyed a lot of laughter! Your Christmas cards and letters through the years have been treasured.  Soon we will all be able to spend time together again with joy and laughter when Jesus comes to take us home with Him. Then there will be no more tears. Our thought and prayers and love are with all of you. 🙏

I have many fond memories of Mr. V. He was my favorite teacher in grade school, and I always looked up to him.  I recall he was the first to show me how to hold and swing a golf club, great times playing softball on the Douglasville SDA field, presidential physical fitness was always fun times. He was encouraging, uplifting, an enthusiastic story teller, kind hearted and compassionate. I am blessed to have known you. The world is better off for the effect you have had in my life and others. You will be missed.

Ron was a precious soul, respected by our family, especially Bradley, who from his childhood always spoke of Mr "V" with high respect Rest in peace brother, until we meet again at the resurrection of the just, when Jesus comes to take us home with Him. 1st Thessalonoans 4: 13-18, Daniel 12: 1-3. Mr. V. has always been a part of our family’s life, for more than 30 yrs.  He could often be found with my dad, prepping for the upcoming fishing season or setting off in the early hours of the morning to find the best fishing spot. He spent time showing up to birthdays, Sabbath lunches, or anything Mrs. V. could convince him to attend. He always smiled and made time to see how things were going, every time I came down to Douglasville to visit. 
He was also one of the reasons I truly wanted to become a teacher in the first place ~ He was cool, tough, compassionate, kind-hearted, wise, and funny... everything a great teacher should be!  
May God bring comfort and peace over the family and continue to be their strength. 

The Dogwood blossoms are about to erupt into bloom and that is when we three Fishin’ Buddies: Ronnie V., Ron Doane, and myself get ready to head down the Chattahoucha to Franklin to hunt for the Stripped Bass.  Ronnie and us loved this annual pilgrimage so much, and we’ll never leave without him in our loving memories.  There’s  will always be  a seat for him in the boat.  Ronnie would get so excited when he would hook into a huge lunker Striped Bass that hemade us all laugh so hard that we almost all fell in.  
 
     Happy Days in a Life Well Lived.

Ron was a world traveler, he liked to go places, and we always enjoyed traveling with Ron & Cecilia. In 2000, Ron, Cecilia, my Ron and I drove to  Birmingham and flew to Seattle, stayed there overnight, then drove to Vancouver, B.C. for a vacation. In between sight seeing, the two Ron's went fishing for Salmon (unsuccessful so we had to purchase smoked salmon to take back to Douglasville).  
We stayed at the Whistler Ski Resort for 10 days and enjoyed the scenery.  We saw the giant redwoods, watched  the eagles in the park, and went across the Capistrano swinging bridge. Then loaded onto the ferry for Victoria, B.C. , Butchart gardens, and the city for the day, then catching a ferry back to Seattle and flew home.
On another trip with Ron & Cecilia we went to Branson, Mo.,  Ron especially liked eating out and the various shows (not  so much the shopping).  Also went on the Show Boat and had a great time in the show...but not able to fish from the boat! (what Ron would have liked most)
Ron always liked a good laugh and he was always sensitive to others feelings and needs. We will miss him very much! 
Praying that the family will receive comfort as you read these memories and God's peace will surround and fill your hearts during this difficult time.

MR. V was not only a great teacher he was a father figure and friend. 


Ron a.k.a “Pops” or “Papa” as he would let me call him, made me feel like family. He was down-to-earth and would make me smile no matter what kind of day I was having. 
I remember a funny moment, where he was painting a basement and he tried to get me to help and I told him “I don’t know how to paint.” He responded, “Everybody knows how to paint.” So, I picked up a paint brush and started to paint. He was shocked at how bad I was and said, “Give me that paint brush! They’re paying me to do this basement!” ...we both laughed. 
I have many other fond memories of him. He loved people, shared his faith simply and uncomplicated, and showed his love for his family every day. He will continue to live in the hearts of those who had the privilege to cross his path. 
I’m going to miss Papa greatly! Can’t wait for the great homecoming reunion!

My uncle Ronnie was a very short ,wise and funny man. He was so easy to talk to, I’m betting that’s what made him a great teacher. He is going to be missed in so many ways. It’s hard realizing he’s gone. 

Ron was a special person in every way. Our paths would cross on many occassions during my time at AAA and beyond, and he would always greet me with a smile, handshake, and ussually a pun to lighten the day. His smile was infectious which matched his persona. I am praying for Cecilia and the children they have raised together, that have become beautiful adults, God's precious comfort during this difficult time. Rest in peace till our Savior calls.

Ron was the best fishing buddy, (brother from another mother), always ready to "go catch a fish" and right at the top of my list of friends. We spent many hours on the lakes and rivers, sometimes all night, talking about everything under the sun... but most of all he liked to brag on his family... Julie, Todd, Shane and his grandchildren...he couldn't have been more proud.
Benny Ray he loved your daily phone calls and jokes and you were the best of brothers, it makes me jealous!
Cecilia, he couldn't live without you, he loved you and his family more than anything... and I know that to be true, because the truth comes out at 3:00 A.M. on the boat in the middle of the lake. 
Looking forward to seeing my fishing buddy again on that "Great Getting Up Morning".

Ron was always quick to smile and full of life. He made me feel at home the first time I met him as a Catholic attending the church with my Adventist wife. It was he and  people like him that made me keep coming back. 

Ron was a very special teacher to my daughter and many other young people at the AAA Academy and at our church. 
God's blessings for peace as you, Cecilia and your family remember all the good memories and await the wonderful resurrection day. God has said, I will never leave you or forsake you". Hold on to His promises.
May we see each other again then.
