“Nana,” as she was known by her loving family, could always be counted on to stand up for herself and others. She had a strong spirit and was a force to be reckoned with. Just as her late husband had, she always rooted for the underdog. She and her husband were childhood sweethearts with 58 years of marriage together. Sharon loved to laugh and play, always making her family play the most absurd games when they were together. She had a keen eye for fashion and design and loved to look well put together. She had a knack for adding beauty and sparkle to things – making them more fun. Losing her has made the world a lot less sparkly now.
Sharon is preceded in death by her loving husband, Roger Clark Winningham; her parents, Jethro and Mary Baines; a daughter, Monica Gayle Winningham; a grandson, Drew Worthey; and her siblings, Joyce Hollingsworth, Jerry Baines, Kenneth Baines, and Lynard Baines.
She is survived by her children, Shane (Teresa) Winningham and Angela (Greg) Worthey; her brother, Larry Baines; her sisters, Jean Owens and Connie (Bill) McKennon; grandchildren, Caleb (Leigha) Winningham, Ivory (Alexis) Winningham, Morgan (Jacob Bovona) Winningham, and Elyse (Josh) Harris; and great-grandchildren, Autumn Winningham, Hunter Winningham, Lucas Worthey, and Marcy Worthey.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will take place in the Rosehaven Chapel at 2:00 pm with Reverend Ken Stephens officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville, Georgia.
