Shirley Ann (Warren) Wilson

Shirley Ann (Warren) Wilson, age 79, of Villa Rica, Georgia, passed away Friday, August 28, 2020. A native of Douglas County, Shirley was born December 3, 1940 in Winston, daughter of the late Robert and Geneva (Fausett) Warren. Shirley was a 1958 graduate of Douglas County High School. Shirley’s family meant the world to her, and her canine “babies” were like her children. Often referred to as the “life of the party”, she was very bright, funny, enjoyed life, and loved square dancing and clogging. She was known as serving a “little cake with lots of Cool Whip”. A talented seamstress, she made outfits for square dancing. She was a member of the Woodie Fite Senior Center, where she participated in art lessons and painting. Shirley was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church, where she served as the organist for many years, and continued to volunteer as long as her health allowed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wilburn “Will” Richard Wilson; and a brother, Charles Warren.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Edith Warren Fendley; niece, Sherrie (Randy) Moore; nephew, Travis (Lisa) Warren; great-niece, Alicia (Jeff) Graham and Sarah (Nik) Hatzileris; great-nephews, David Moore and Jesse (Jennifer) Warren; great-great-nieces and nephews, Keagan, Garrett, Kallie, Grayson, Asher, Elsie and Leo; a cousin who was like a sister, Glenda Streetman; and her canine babies, Chihuahua Sissy and Terrier Rocky.

A graveside service is planned for Monday, August 31, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Billy Godwin officiating.
