Mr. Merrifield, age 68, of Douglasville, GA passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019. He was born October 23, 1950 in Santa Monica, CA. Thomas came to Douglasville in 1978. He graduated from Kansas State University. He served as vice chairman with the Water Sewer Authority for 8 years. Thomas also served as an environmental technician with Air Quality. He had a passion for environmental challenges and strived to protect children from them.
He is preceded in death by his father, John M. Merrifield.
Surviving Thomas is wife of 50 years, Deborah F. Merrifield; mother, Barbara A. Merrifield; daughter, Megan Ann Merrifield Felch; brother, John Merrifield; sister, Carol Herold and a host of other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March15, 2019 from 5 until 8 o’clock pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 4401 Prestley Mill Rd, Douglasville, GA 30135 on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11 o’clock am.
