W. Dwight Nalley Sr.

Mr. W. Dwight. Nalley, Sr., age 73, of Whitesburg, Georgia passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018. He was born August 2, 1944 in Villa Rica, Georgia. Mr. Nalley was a machinist. He loved motorcycles and guitars. He was an avid sportsman and loved the outdoors. A very talented man, he could build anything with his hands. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Whitesburg, and was an ordained Baptist Deacon.

Preceding him in death were his parents, William Glenn and Sophie Roberts Nalley; and an infant sister, Judy Marie Nalley.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Nina Gail R. Nalley; sons, Bill (Anita) Nalley, Matthew (Jenny) Nalley and Christopher Nalley; daughters, Tracy (Donald) Sewell, Amanda (Chris) Dunkin and Cortney Nalley; brothers, Ricky (Lisa) Nalley, Jeff (Sonja) Nalley and Scott (Traci) Nalley; sister, Dianne (Ken) Word; grandchildren, Daniel, Joseph, Christian, Charlene, Toree, River, Jarrett, Elyssa, Alley, Ashlyn, Cecelia, and Chance; several step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; as well as other family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM and from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be Friday, February 16, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Consolation Baptist Church in Whitesburg, with Reverend Mike Powers and Reverend Jimmy Lester officiating. Mr. Nalley will lie-in-state at the church from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Consolation Baptist Church Cemetery, 70 Consolation Church Road, Whitesburg, Georgia 30185.
