James Curtis Hutchins

James Curtis Hutchins, 81 of Dubois, entered into God’s eternal care Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Christ the King Manor, DuBois. He was the husband of 56 years to Freda Marie (Shephard) Hutchins of DuBois whom he married November 1, 1957.

Born January 23, 1931 on Boone Mountain, he was the son of the late Earl and Cora (McDivitt) Hutchins.

Mr. Hutchins attended the CMA Church, DuBois. He was employed with Brockway Glass, Plant #2 for 40 years as a machinist and Deco and was also employed with Fairman’s Farm, DuBois retiring in 1992. James enjoyed crossword puzzles, camping, hunting, fishing and fireworks.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four sons and two daughters: William Hutchins and his wife Darlene, Reynoldsville; Viola Schaffer and her husband Richard, DuBois; Doris Hutchins and her friend Ken Himman, Reynoldsville; John Hutchins and his wife Amy, Russell City, PA; Timothy Hutchins and wife Lorraine, Sabula, PA; Kenneth Hutchins and wife Jennifer, DuBois; 2 sisters and 1 brother: Lucrisha Shephard, DuBois; Annie Himes, Brockway; Alex Hutchins, Prosperity, PA; also 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son: James Hutchins, Jr., also 5 brothers and 1 sister.

A service to celebrate the life of James C. Hutchins will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, January, 26, 2013 at Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc., 142 W. Long Ave., DuBois, Pa 15801 with Pastor Michael Timothy Connor officiating. A time to share memories and have an opportunity to view will be Friday 6:00 – 9:00 PM and Saturday 10:00 -11:00 the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mountain Cemetery.
