Margaret Jean Kirkwood

She was born on February 25, 1926 in Punxsutawney the daughter of the late Joseph and Mae Shriner Myers. On December 25, 1945, she married Maylon “Ike” Kirkwood, he survives.

Jean was a 1943 graduate of DuBois Area High School and worked for Troutman Dept Store and Kirkwood and Sons Plumbing. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing cards, flower gardening, volunteering for the little league and YMCA and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her three children: Randy and his wife Sharon Kirkwood of DuBois, Donna and her husband Dan Dangel of Hollidaysburg and Terry Kirkwood of DuBois; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert “Tiny” Myers.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8pm on Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Mohney Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Christ Lutheran Church, with Rev John Miller officiating. An additional hour of viewing will be held from 9am until the hour of service. Burial will be in Morningside cemetery.
