Walter W Hicks

Born on February 22, 1913 in Falls Creek, PA, he was the son of the late Guy Washington and Charlotte Elizabeth (Corbett) Hicks. He married Edith Lucille Snyder on July 18, 1942. She preceded him in death on June 10, 1987.

Mr. Hicks graduated from Falls Creek High School in 1932. He was a retired dairy farmer who sold milk to VT Dairy in DuBois for 45 years. He also drove for DuFast Bus Company for 9 years.

He was the oldest active member of the Beechwoods Presbyterian Church and a member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau. He enjoyed farming, woodworking and gardening.

Mr. Hicks is survived by two daughters: Linda Lou Hicks and Marcia Ann Hicks both of Brockway; a sister, Hazel Fritz of Falls Creek and a brother, Glenn Hicks of DuBois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lucille, two brothers: James and George Hicks; and two sisters: Gladys Ent and Phyllis Fleming.

Funeral services for Mr. Hicks will be held at Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc. on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 12:00 PM with Rev. David and Emily Koehler officiating. Interment will take place in Beechwoods Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM until the hour of services.
