Bonnie Lou Stein George, born August 16, 1939, passed away February 19, 2026 surrounded by love. She grew up in Chillicothe, Ohio, attended Chillicothe High School, and later The Ohio State University, where she played French horn in “The Best Damn Band in the Land.” A lifelong Buckeye fan, she faithfully cheered on Ohio State football every Saturday alongside her husband, Ed.
Bonnie worked for many years as an Executive Secretary at Blue Cross Blue Shield, later serving as Front Desk Manager at the Ramada Inn Dublin–Granville and Rodeway Inn Dublin, and as a bookstore manager at Florida Atlantic University.
She met the love of her life, Ed George, in Florida. They later moved to Columbus and also shared a home in Glen Arbor, Michigan. They loved Lake Michigan and its changing seasons.
Bonnie enjoyed reading, baking, antique hunting, crocheting, quilting, and sewing. She especially loved decorating for the holidays — Christmas was her favorite. She never missed a birthday or celebration and delighted in giving thoughtful gifts. An animal lover, she always had a beloved dog or cat by her side.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Ed George; her sister, Jackie Hall; her cherished niece, Kelley (Rick) Christy; her niece Kristin (Parks) Davis and their children, Aubrey and Austin; cousins Peggy Stein, Gretchen Steele, Sarah Stein, and Margie Beth Stein; and their families. She is preceded in death by her parents and cousin, Tim Stein.
She shared a lifelong friendship with Anne French Hines, speaking daily and remaining close throughout her life, as well as with Anne’s children, Eric Hines and Jane Hines-Sullivan.
Bonnie will be deeply missed and forever loved.
