Charles Francis Libell, 92, passed away on October 17, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Charles and Emma (Ruffing) Libell on December 13, 1930. In 1951, Charles met and married the love of his life, Geraldine “Geri” (Ferraro) Libell. They were married for 71 years. After attending medical school, Charles spent his career as an Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat physician in Columbus, Ohio for 40 years. While he wasn’t working, Charles enjoyed golfing, woodworking and being with family.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Emma Libell and brother, Paul Libell. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Geri; daughter, Sharon Leenhouts; grandchildren, Peter (Teresa) Leenhouts and Katie Leenhouts; and great grandchildren, Charles, James, and Margot; sister, Lois (Libell) Zanone; nieces and nephews.
Arrangements entrusted to Schoedinger Dublin 5980 Perimeter Drive on Saturday, November 4, where all are welcome to join a visitation at 1pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm and reception from 3:00-5:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
