Doris Hoehler Monnin, wife of Raymond Monnin, died peacefully at home on May 20. She was born on November 24, 1948, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Matthew Hoehler and Ann Book. She attended the University of Dayton and became a medical technologist. She worked for St. Elizabeth, and Children’s hospitals in Dayton and Columbus.
She will be remembered for her love of plants. Many of her friends and relatives have a start of one of her plants in their gardens still today. She enjoyed camping, playing cards, reading, traveling, quilting, gambling and spending time with friends. She loved nothing more than being with her family, especially her grandchildren, spending hours playing board games and baking cookies with them. A close second were the dogs and cats she fostered and rescued over the years.
Surviving Doris is her husband of 53 years, Raymond Monnin. She is survived by three children Kelly (Morley) Stone, Scott (Carrie) Monnin, and Ryan (Stephanie) Monnin. She has 6 grandchildren: Carson, Becca, Caleb, Emily, Blair, and Ian. Her siblings are Larry Hoehler (deceased), Ray (June) Hoehler, Martin (Gemma) Hoehler, Carol Hoehler Bradley, and JoAnn (Mike) Ray.
Viewing will be held starting Saturday, May 28, at 10:00 am at Schoedinger Funeral Home in Dublin Ohio. Services will be held there at 11:30. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Colony Cats Adoption at https://colonycats.org/donate.html
