Edward Michael Crenshaw, the son of Evelyn Young and Charley Crenshaw, passed away on December 25th, 2021, at his home in Columbus, OH. A former resident of Oklahoma City, he was born on May 8th, 1958. A lifelong academic and charismatic intellectual, he acquired a master's degree in Sociology from The University of Oklahoma and later a PH. D from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Both a lover of sci-fi and fantasy, he spent much of his free time with his children watching film, discussing books, and sharing meals together. Ed is preceded in death by both parents and survived by a son, Brian, a daughter, Erin, and many beloved cousins. A longtime fixture of the Ohio State University Sociology department, Ed might best be remembered as having a twinkle in his eye while carrying on a friendly, yet passionate, debate or as a caring and devoted doctoral advisor to his many students, whom he spoke of with nothing but love and fondness. A memorial service will be held at Schoedinger Funeral Home, 5980 Perimeter Dr., Dublin, OH on Friday, January 7th at 3pm. A catered reception will follow.
