Eleanore graduated magna cum laude from Ohio University with a degree in medical technology. She began her career working in Dr. Davidson’s Laboratory at Mount Carmel Hospital, where she was deeply proud of and dedicated to her work.
Eleanore shared a loving marriage of 69 years with her husband, Dale Dougal, who preceded her in death. Together they faithfully attended every home Ohio State Buckeyes football game and rarely missed an away game on television. They also shared a passion for travel and enjoyed many adventures together around the world.
She loved her four-legged kids and enjoyed nature with Dale on their deck. Known for her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. Family game nights were never without laughter, especially when Eleanore found creative ways to “bend the rules” in games ranging from pool to card and board games.
A devoted member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Eleanore was also a dedicated wife and mother. While her husband traveled extensively for work during the week, she managed the home and kept everything and everyone in order.
She is survived by her children, Christine Dougal and Adam Dougal; grandchildren, Adam Ryan Dougal, Evan (Julia) Dougal, and Erin Dougal; and extended family David (Amy) Backus and Barbara (Dan) Roshon.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Laird J. Baker, and three infant children.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive Dublin, Ohio 43017.
