Jean Ray (Altice) Blake, 88, of Dublin, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on December 21, 2025, at her home. A long-time Muncie, IN resident, Jean had relocated to Dublin, Ohio in 2019. Jean was born in Danville, Virginia and lived also in Chattanooga TN, Arlington VA, and New Orleans LA, where she met her husband Thomas L. Blake of Muncie. She is survived by her daughter Megan (Chad) Weinman of Dublin, OH; son Michael Blake of Goshen, KY; granddaughter Audrey Kirkley of Providence, RI; and grandson Colin Kirkley of Los Angeles, CA.
Jean graduated from Chattanooga High School in 1955 where she was involved in Student Council, Drill Squad, and was voted “Best Dancer”. She received her Registered Nursing License after graduating in 1959 from Charity Hospital of Louisiana at New Orleans School of Nursing.
Jean was a nurse, loving wife, mother, and homemaker who cared deeply for others. In her spare time she enjoyed tennis, bridge club, reading, gardening, and traveling—especially to Grand Cayman Island. Jean was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church in Muncie.
Jean is preceded in death by her husband Dr. Thomas Lee Blake and by her son Matthew Thomas Blake.
The family wishes to express gratitude for the companionship and comfort provided to Jean by the loving care teams and nursing staff at Sunrise of Dublin, OSU Wexner Medical Center, Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital, Westerwood Rehabilitation, and Care 360 Hospice.
Jean’s family will honor her memory with a private memorial remembrance and celebration of her life.

Arrangements are being handled by Schoedinger Funeral & Cremation Service, Dublin, Ohio. Online tributes can be posted for the family through 1/31/26 via the Schoedinger website.
