

Jeffrey T. Bauer, 74, passed away at home on January 19, 2025. He was born on January 10, 1951, in Lima, Ohio, where he grew up and spent his adolescence. Jeffrey was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Iris Bauer, and his sister, Michele Barnhardt. He is survived by his son, David J. Bauer; daughter, Emily (Thomas) Waldren; his beloved grandsons, Winston and Whitaker Waldren; and other extended family.
Jeffrey was a proud graduate of Miami University, where he earned both his undergraduate degree and a master’s degree in higher education. He was a passionate Miami University Redskins fan and had a lifelong love for sports. A devoted educator, Jeffrey began his career in education, working as an English teacher and basketball coach in Rossford, Ohio. He then transitioned into a successful 20-plus year career in banking. His professional achievements include forming the credit card department at Diamond Savings and Loan, where he was highly praised for his meticulous nature and strong work ethic, and serving as head of the credit card department at Trustcorp, Inc.
In his later years, Jeffrey embraced his most treasured role as “Pa” to his grandsons, a title that brought him immense joy. He loved reading with them, playing with them, and making holidays special for his family. His grandchildren loved him just as much, and their bond will forever be cherished.
Jeffrey was an amazing father who always put his children first. He offered practical life lessons and went out of his way to share memorable experiences. He was regarded highly by family, friends, and colleagues for his reliability, trustworthiness, and sharp sense of humor. He will be remembered for always acting with honesty and integrity.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Schoedinger Dublin Funeral Home, 5980 Perimeter Dr, Dublin, OH 43017.
