Jenni is survived by her daughter, Madison Kupsky of Columbus; parents Jerry and Dotty Kupsky of Grove City; her sisters Beth Pierce of Bainbridge Township and Cathy Kupsky of Whitehall; niece and nephews Matthew, Charlie and Dani.
Jenni was wondrously complex. She loved fiercely, particularly her daughter, and was compassionate and thoughtful. She loved cats, dogs, horses, music, photography, art and books. She participated in band and orchestra in high school, and after Maddie was born, she entertained her with silly versions of opera. She sang in choirs and then joined the Columbus Gay Men’s Chorus – a community where she felt at home. Jenni always held a special place in her heart for people with disabilities and loved volunteering at the Ohio State School for the Blind. Jenni took beautiful pictures of nature, loved ones and friends and welcomed rescue cats into her family.
Jenni thought deeply about faith, science, big ideas and relationships. When she was diagnosed with mental illness as an adult, she dove headfirst into exploring the science, studying and going through therapy, developing coping skills, and taking all the medicines. Jenni was amazingly strong and fought fiercely to control the disease that ultimately robbed her of all hope and took her life.
Our hearts are shattered, but we know that Jenni is finally free, healed and whole. She will always be deeply loved, and her amazing spirit will always live in our hearts and lives.
A Gathering to remember and honor Jenni will be held the morning of Saturday, May 30, 9:00-11:00 a.m., at Lazelle Woods Community Center, 8140 Sancus Blvd., Westerville, Ohio 43081. The family requests that friends and family write down their memories of Jenni to bring to the Gathering. These will be compiled into an album for Jenni’s daughter.
