

Born on January 24, 1962, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, to Eileen Barrett. John graduated from the University of Massachusetts Lowell with a degree in electrical engineering. Over the course of more than 40 years, he dedicated his career to designing plastic components used in everyday products. John was admired for his innovative spirit, his practical problem-solving skills, and his gift for turning ideas into reality.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Angela; their beloved daughters, Megan Corbett (Nicholas) and Kacey Barrett; his mother, Eileen Barrett (Alfio Bellia); and his siblings, Michael Barrett, Kelly Hall (Kenny), and Sue Barrett.
John’s life was filled with laughter, adventure, and love. He cherished time spent with family and friends, exploring new places, and enjoying the company of the family’s bernedoodles, Cash and Elvis. He served as president of his homeowners’ association where he lived. He especially loved spending winters in Florida, completing various house projects, traveling for annual boys’ trips, car shows, listening to music, smoking cigars and celebrating all of life’s milestones with his friends and family.
A visitation will be held at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, Ohio, 43017, on November 14, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place at Schoedinger Dublin on November 15, 2025, at 10:30 a.m.
The family invites you to join them for a celebration of his life on Saturday, November 15, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Crooked Can Brewery, 5354 Center Street, Hilliard, Ohio 43206.
John will be remembered for his spirited personality, his humor, and the joy he brought to everyone who knew him.
