

He was born on February 1, 1941, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late William H. and Rosemary H. Elstun. He is survived by his sisters Linda (Walter) Daly, and her son Andrew and daughter Kimberly, and Susan (Edward) Borgo, and their sons Edward and John. He is also survived by his wife of 55 years, Michele; sons Devon (Katherine), Brandon (Lianne), Cavan (Gina), and Ahren (Jessica); and his daughter Dianna (Darren) Guthrie; grandchildren Kai, Adelina and Oceana Elstun, Joel, Harrison, Christian Javier (Sara), Hunter (Kambree), Greyson, and Jozet Guthrie, Vanessa (Bryant) Godfrey; and great-granddaughters Gigi, Lyla, and Eva.
Lawrence attended Hilliard High School. He also attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and studied Industrial Engineering and Architecture.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Marine Corp, SGT USMC, H&MS-13, MAG-13, 1st MAW. He played a critical role in providing logistical and maintenance support to Marine aircraft squadrons during his term of service. He received certification in Nuclear Biological & Chemical Warfare Defense. He specialized as an Aviation Ordinance Man, Marine Corps and Navy, earning several medals.
He worked for the Central Ticket Office and was the Assistant Manager of Kenley Players in Columbus, before becoming the Manager of Kenley Players in Dayton. He was the Manager of the National Rock Opera Company touring a company of Jesus Christ Superstar in the United States and Europe. Working in the Oil & Gas Industry, he started as a Leaseman at Callander & Kimbrel. He moved over to GEO Energy becoming the Manager of Exploration, and then part owner of GEO as VP of Exploration. He founded Sage Energy, Inc. and served as President.
He loved his pet cats, was a car enthusiast, enjoyed photography, time in the sun, nature, wildlife and gardening. He was a devoted husband. He was proud of and dearly loved his four sons and daughter, their spouses and families.

A visitation for Lawrence will be held Friday, August 22, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, OH 43017. A funeral will take place Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Schoedinger Dublin.
