Lois J. Murphy

Lois Jean Murphy (Neiser) age 89, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Riverside hospital. She was born November 14, 1932 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Rudolph and Laura Cameron Neiser. She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved son Greg Murphy and brother Robert Neiser. She is survived by her wonderful husband John R. Murphy, to whom she was married for 70 amazing years; daughter Cynda (Robert) Bernardo; daughter-in-law Charma Murphy; sister-in-law Betty Bookman; grandchildren Crystal (Jon) Grill, Chelsea Bernardo and Gabriella (Jordan) Hunt. Jean graduated from Lancaster High School in 1951. She worked in various roles as a secretary, office manager and senior administrative specialist and retired from Allstate in 1994 after 20 years of service. She received several awards for her hard work and positive attitude. She loved cross-stitching, scrapbooking, baking, walking in the neighborhood with John (5-7 miles per day at one point) and spending time with her loved ones. Jean will be remembered as a very loving, kind and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her joy and smile warmed the hearts of everyone she encountered. She will be deeply missed by many. It's not goodbye, only farewell for now. The family will receive family and friends during a memorial service on March, 29th at 3pm and visitation from 4-6pm.
