Margaret Meitinger

Born June 16th, 1935, in Lauffen am Neckar, Germany, the second of six children, she grew up as a child during WWII. She immigrated to the United States in 1954 and married her husband, Sylvester, also an immigrant, who she was married to for nearly 60 years. She moved to Toledo, Ohio, and recently to Dublin, Ohio, to be closer to children and grandchildren.

She loved to sew, knit, crochet, cook, bake, garden, and offer hospitality to anyone who visited. She loved her neighbors and friends, and was very involved with the ladies chapter of the Toledo Schwaben Verein, the Toledo Bavarian Sports Club, Covenant Presbyterian, and later Christ Presbyterian church. She enjoyed her friends at knitting, book club, Meijer shuttle runs, and especially her neighbors she shared her hallway with at Friendship Village of Dublin. She was fluent in English and German, and always remembered her friends’ and family’s birthdays with cards and phone calls. Most of all, however, she was completely devoted to her husband and family. She was loving, gracious, kind, courageous, and content, with a strong faith in Christ. Her memory will be cherished and she will be deeply missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband Sylvester Meitinger, parents Wilhelm and Hilde (Goller) Wannenwetsch, sister Lore (Willi) Kurz, and 2 brothers, who died as infants. She is survived by her brothers Heinz (Ursula) Wannenwetsch and Helmut (Gudrun) Wannenwetsch, daughter, Rosemary (Robert) D’Agostino, grandchildren Laura (Christopher) Hubachek and Mary (Nicholas) Berkey, and great grandchildren Henry, Hudson, and June, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Friendship Village of Dublin, especially the Security Services, for their superb care and assistance.

A Celebration of Life will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Friendship Village of Dublin, with Rev. Fred Arzola officiating. Visitation with family and friends will immediately follow. Interment will be at Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, Ohio. Arrangements by Schoedinger Dublin.
