

Maureen Alyn Luis, 76, of Powell, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, the Feast of All Souls. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on September 29, 1949, to the late Alan Klonne and Marion “Bobbi” (Williams) Hamm.
She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 53 years, Michael R. Luis, her father, Alan Klonne, her mother, Marion “Bobbi” Hamm and Bobbi’s husband, J.B. Hamm.
Maureen is survived by her two beloved children, Michelle Alyn (Luis) Blevins of North Carolina, and Timothy Michael Luis of Dublin, daughter-in-law, Renee (Marcoulier) Luis, and six cherished grandchildren, Alyn, Christina, Colton, Elijah, Collette, and Gabriel, in addition to her brothers Mike Klonne of Naples, Florida and Tim (Tina) Klonne of Cincinnati, Ohio, eight nieces and nephews and seven great-nieces and nephews.
Maureen was a proud graduate of Ursuline Academy and Edgecliff College, earning a degree in mathematics. She began her career as a math teacher until dedicating herself to her ultimate vocation, that of a mother to her two children. She was intricately involved in their spiritual, academic and social development and volunteered at their school and Parish throughout their childhood years, relishing the friendships she made along the way.
When her children were in high school, Maureen offered her caring, faithful and well-organized service to her local parish, serving as the Director of Religious Education at St. Peter Parish in Worthington, Ohio for nearly 30 years. In her retirement, Maureen became highly involved in the Powell Women’s Club, serving a term as president of the organization and cherishing the strong relationships she developed through the organization.
Maureen will be remembered as a joy-filled, welcoming, openly loving and dedicated servant of God. She was adored by all whom she met and possessed a tremendous gift for making new acquaintances feel immediately comfortable and accepted. Maureen deeply loved her husband, her children, grandchildren, brothers and their families. Maureen especially loved being a grandmother and showered her grandkids with unconditional love. She shared a unique bond with each of them that is already deeply missed. Maureen’s life of purpose, compassion and joy was driven by her Catholic faith and relationship with Jesus and Mary, both of whom she spoke of often as she prepared to pass from this world. Her abundant love and contagious smile will be contained in the memories of all who knew her well.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to St. Peter St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Powell, Ohio.
To honor Maureen’s memory, the family asks that you live and speak with kindness and love your family and friends deeply – just as she did.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 12, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, Ohio 43017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 10700 Liberty Rd. Powell, Ohio. A bereavement meal at St. Joan of Arc will follow the gravesite service at Resurrection Cemetery.
