Patricia Fisher, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on September 7, 1951, in Akron, Ohio, to Max and Nellie Kapel.
Patricia, fondly known as Patti, graduated from Copley High School in 1969 and had multiple careers in her life; two she spoke of most were when she was computer punch-card operator and an executive assistant at The Limited. In the mid-90s she stopped working in an office and transitioned to becoming a stay-at-home-mom and homemaker. Patti was known for her creative spirit, often found in her kitchen trying new recipes, singing along to her favorite music, tending her beautiful garden, or indulging in her passion for crafts.
Her family treasures countless memories, but one favorite was their morning chats over a cup of coffee and evening good-night hugs. After Patti moved in with her son’s family, these quiet moments of connection became a cherished part of everyone’s day. Her positivity was a light to all who knew her. Even during all her life’s challenges, she maintained an optimistic outlook that inspired those around her. Her culinary talents were unmatched, and her family lovingly remembers the “Patti’s Pantry” dream – a bakery featuring her signature cream puffs, pies, cookies, and pumpkin squares.
Patti was preceded in death by her husband, Don Fisher Jr., in May 2023, and her brother, Jim Kapel, in October 2020. She is survived by her son, Don Fisher III, and his wife, Laura; her two adored grandchildren, Max and Ryan; her sister, Carol Loren; and numerous nieces and nephews who will all remember her fondly. Patti also had a special place in her heart for her dogs, Spanky, Yoshi, and Romeo, who brought her endless joy throughout her life.
A celebration of Patti’s life will be held on December 7, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, Ohio 43017. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Columbus Humane Society or your local animal shelter, causes close to Patti’s heart.
Patricia Fisher will be remembered for her unwavering positivity, her love of family, and the warmth she brought to every moment. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
