Patrick Joseph Finneran

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick (Pat) Joseph Finneran of Hilliard, Ohio, who departed this life peacefully on December 6, 2025, at the age of 90. Pat was born on August 31, 1935, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Raymond and Mary Finneran. He graduated from Aquinas High School in Columbus, Ohio, and was a long-standing member of the St. Brendan Parish.

Pat was a dedicated husband to Rosemary, his loving wife of 66 years, and a devoted father to his seven children. He was a proud grandfather to fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Pat worked for 43 years as a U.S. postal carrier in Upper Arlington, Ohio, where he earned the respect of coworkers and customers alike, and received numerous commendations before retiring in 2001.

Pat was committed to his family. He worked a second job at night for many years to provide for his family and make sure his children had everything they needed. He passed onto them the importance of family, accountability, responsibility, commitment, and a strong work ethic.

Pat always enjoyed family gatherings for special occasions and holidays, especially Christmas. He went all out year after year to make Christmas special for everyone. He was also a big sports fan in general, but particularly loved watching Ohio State football and listening to Cincinnati Reds games. He also enjoyed watching TV western programs and movies and playing euchre.

Pat’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten.

Pat is survived by his children: Kathy (Greg) Woeste, Mike (Bonnie) Finneran, Tim (Stephanie) Finneran, Karen (Scott) Kennedy, Patty (Phil) Riebel, Dan (Kate) Finneran, and Jim Finneran; and by his brother-in-law Gary (Barbara) Crumley and sister-in-law Linda Crumley. Pat will be deeply missed by his grandchildren: Michael (Susie), Bryan (Megan), Connor, Heather, Shawn (Miranda), Erin (Jarrod), Sarah (Javan), Ashley (Justin), Brittany (Clifton), Zachary (Lachelle), Megan (Emilio), Ellie (Brendon), Theresa, and Annie; and great-grandchildren: Jenna, Sophie, Winter, Hudson, Colton, Calvin, and Frances; as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Mary Finneran, his wife Rosemary, sister Mary Ann (Gary) Gilkerson, sister-in-law Dolores (Bob) Proulx, brother-in-law Richard Crumley, and daughter-in-law Amy Johnson.

Visitation will be held on Monday December 15, 2025, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Schoedinger Dublin; 5980 Perimeter Drive Dublin, Ohio 43017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday December 16, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Brendan the Navigator; 4475 Dublin Road Hilliard, Ohio 43026. Burial will immediately follow the mass at St. Joseph Cemetery; 6440 S. High Street Lockbourne, Ohio 43137.
