Russell Alan Nippert

Russell Alan Nippert, 84, of Columbus, died Monday, April 11, 2022. He was a member of Upper Arlington Lutheran Church and longtime member of Brookside Country Club. Russ graduated from Purdue University with a degree in engineering in 1959. Upon graduation, he proudly served two years as a Captain in the United States Army. Following his service, Russ joined the family copper products manufacturing business The Nippert Company. In 1972, he succeeded his father Paul Nippert as President. Russ successfully led the company’s global expansion, adding manufacturing facilities in England and China. He ran the company until retirement in 2003. In his free time, Russ enjoyed restoring antique automobiles and traveling the world. He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Mary Lou Nippert, his brother Paul Nippert, his wife of 48 years, Linda Nippert, passed in 2007, and his son Scott Nippert, passed in 2018. Russ is survived by his second wife of 11 years, Karen: sons, Greg (Kerry) Nippert, Andy Nippert, and Chris (Megumi); sister, Barbara. Service will be held on Tuesday, April 19 at 11am, SCHOEDINGER DUBLIN FUNERAL HOME, 5980 Perimeter Dr, Dublin, OH 43017 with David White officiating. Friends may call from 12-2pm. A private interment will follow at Dublin Cemetery.
