William J. Squeo, age 81, aka “Mad Dog” or “Bobo” peacefully passed away at Kobacker House on November 3rd surrounded by his loving family. He was a damn nice guy and is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda, sisters Barb (John) O’Day and Linda “TT” Squeo, son Tom (Melissa Laudick) Squeo, daughter Julie (Ryan) Senter, grandchildren Addison (Bo) Stambaugh, Payton Senter, Lily, Henry and Eli Squeo as well as grand-dog sons McGraw and Vinny. He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Betty Squeo and in-laws Wilbur and Edith Potts.
He was the best dad, grandpa and husband that we could ever ask for, extremely loved in every way, and his ornery smile and sense of humor will be dearly missed.
Mad Dog was a proud union electrician with 56 years as a member of IBEW Local 683. He was a legend amongst the tradesmen, though maybe not his bosses. He was famous for his “nothing new after 2p” philosophy of work, especially on a warm Friday afternoon. He loved Ft. Myers Beach, and he spent numerous spring breaks with his family, as well as many months on the beach post retirement with Linda. He loved walking the beach, a cold beer on the patio, as well as the bacon wrapped shrimp and views from the bar at The Cottage. He loved a good parade/festival as he was the main hot dog griller at countless Doo Dah Parades; he also looked to the Shrimp Festival in Ft. Myers every March.
All are welcome to attend a funeral service on Tuesday, November 8th at SCHOEDINGER DUBLIN, 5980 Perimeter Dr., Dublin, OH 43017 from 1-2pm. Immediately following the ceremony, the family would love to welcome all friends and family for visitation from 2-5pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Ft. Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce to assist SW Florida to rebuild after the devastation from Hurricane Ian.
