

She was born in Grand Rapids, MN in 1933 to Alvin and Aili Backlund. Florence went to business school in Duluth and married William E. Schramm. She retired as a bookkeeper from Plaunt Plumbing after having a paralyzing stroke. Flo volunteered for the Benedictine Health Center, PAVSA, and the Depot. She loved to visit with her family, friends, and kitties, Bear and Daisy.
Flo will be remembered for her great love of people and pets, strong faith, compassion, feisty spirit, her quick-witted sense of humor, infectious laugh, and her great love of chocolate. She will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Flo was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, William; her parents; sisters, Faith, Dorthea, Alyce, Alma, and Susan; and brother, Alvin.
She is survived by her niece and caretaker, Debra Templer; sisters, Felicia and Beatrice; brother, David; and many loving nieces and nephews, including great and great-great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Barbara Hemenway and staff at the Northland Clinic, St. Luke's Hospital, St. Luke's wound care and hospice care, Essentia Health wound care, Keystone Bluffs, Hearthstone Health Care and Diamond Willow in Proctor.
Visitation: 10:30 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. Funeral Service on Friday, September 6th at the River Church, 1902 E 4th St. Interment at Park Hill Cemetery.
