Joanne Kathleen Stokes

Joanne “Susie” Kathleen (Bostrom) Stokes, 64, of Duluth passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016 in her home surrounded by her family. Joanne was born October 7, 1951 to Rudolph and Beverly Bostrom in Duluth.

Susie was employed in office management in St. Paul, Minnesota for the majority of her employment history, which led to a successful venture of a privately owned business in the Gaming Industry. She retired due to health conditions in 2006.

She was known by many for her gift of laughter, compassion, and kindness. She was loved by all who knew her and by those who had the opportunity to meet her.

Susie was preceded in death by parents, Beverly and Rudolph Bostrom; husband, William Stokes; and brother, Randolph Bostrom.

She will be greatly missed by her sisters, Diane D'Auria, Raeanne Keefe (Thomas Bowen) and Becky Schartner; brother, Keavin Bostrom (Lynda); 14 nieces and nephews; and many cousins and extended family.

Visitation: 5-7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Jarvi Dowd Funeral Home, 925 E. 4th Street, Duluth. The visitation will continue from 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service Monday, April 18, 2016 at Duluth Gospel Tabernacle, 1515 W. Superior Street, Duluth.
