Judy Murphy

Judy Estella Murphy was born on July 4, 1947, in Virginia, MN to parents William and Mary McFaul. She spent her youth in Virginia where she grew up and graduated High School. On February 1, 1966, she was united in marriage to James Murphy in Virginia, MN. The couple lived in various places such as Biwabik, Hoyt Lakes, Superior, and Prior Lake, before settling in Duluth. Judy was a devoted employee of 33 years at Essentia Health Care as a Senior Reimbursement Analyst. She loved spending time with her friends, children, and grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoyed flower gardening at her beautiful home that she and Jim worked diligently to build.

Judy is survived by her children: Todd (Jennifer) Murphy of Spring Hill, KS, Jennifer Murphy of Gilbert, MN, grandchildren: Adam (Marissa), Miles, Emily, Zachary, great grandchildren: Ayden and Liam, and her sister Carol (Woitto “Skip”) Jarvi of Biwabik, MN.

Judy is preceded in death by her husband James, her parents, and sisters: Dorothy Clinton and Mary Jane McFaul.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 8, at 11 am, at the Peace United Church of Christ in Duluth with Rev. Kathleen Nelson officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 7, from 4-7 pm at the Bells Brothers Jarvi Dowd Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service on Friday from 10-11 at the Church. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery next to her husband James.
