

Louis “Tex” Sirny, 99, of Duluth, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was born on November 10, 1915 in Wheelock, Texas, to Anton and Hilda Sirny. Louis spent 20 years in the military and retired from the Air Force in 1963.
He married Eileen Sironen on July 22, 1965, and they celebrated 48 years of marriage before her death in 2013. Together they shared a passion for gardening. His vegetable gardens were his pride and joy.
Louis was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen; parents; siblings; stepson, Gary Sironen; and daughter, Judy.
He is survived by his stepdaughter, Lone (David) Cooke; stepson, Larry (Sandy) Sironen; daughter-in-law, MaryAnn Sironen; grandchildren, LuAnn (Roger) Thiry, Sheri (Tom) Gray, David (Brenda) Cooke, Lisa (Kevin) Pettis, Todd Sironen, Linzy (Steve) Eck, Lonny Sironen; great-grandchildren, Aaron (Rachael) Gray, Haeli Pettis, Elijah and Ethan Eck; great-great-grandchildren, Chloe and Caleb Gray; sister, Hilda (Robert) Jezek of Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.
Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11th at the Jarvi Dowd Funeral Home, 925 E. 4th Street, Duluth, with a visitation time one hour prior at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at Normanna Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Duluth Honor Guard.
