
Margaret Mae (Persen) Post passed into the glorious arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 4, 2017 in Duluth Minnesota. She was born in Duluth on May 14, 1923 to Albert and Eva Wicksten Persen.
Margaret graduated from Denfeld High School and after graduating she worked in the Pentagon for five years during and after WWII in the ordinance Division of the war department. Later in her career she was promoted to executive-secretary to the Surgeon General of the Army Ground Forces.
In 1946 she met and married the love of her life, Raymond Leo Post, Jr. in Washington D.C.. In 1947 they returned to Duluth where she worked in the Coolerator Company office; also for the Army Reserve office and as a book keeper of the ILA Local 1366 in Duluth.
Margaret enjoyed spending time researching and writing history of their family ancestors.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; sister, Evelyn Carter; and brothers, Kenneth Persen and John Persen.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Barbara Bassett of Cloquet, Terrence (Linda) , and Thomas Post both of Duluth; three grandchildren, Danniel Bassett of Tacoma, WA, Jennifer Bassett Clement of Cherry, MN, and Willson Post of Duluth; brother, Donald Persen of Ohio; 11 nieces and nephews; a step-granddaughter; six step great-grandchildren; and one step great-great granddaughter.
Private family interment will be held in Forest Hill Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will continue on Sunday June 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery Chapel, 2516 Woodland Ave., Duluth. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the American Diabetes Association.
