Marjorie A. Levendowski

Marjorie Ann Dowd was born on May 24, 1924 in Superior WI to James and Katherine (McKay) Dowd. She graduated from Cathedral High school in Superior.

She was united in marriage with Harold Levendowski on February 8, 1947 in the Cathedral of Christ the King in Superior, WI.

Marge’s life was devoted to her family. She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and never forgot a birthday or other special occasion. During their school years they often stopped by for lunch at Grandma’s. She provided support for her family and always attended as many sporting and other events that she could when her family was involved. Her love of kids led her to work for Head Start in West Duluth schools, retiring after 24 years. Her love and caring for her family will always remain in our hearts.

She was a member of St. James Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; brothers, James (Harriet) Dowd and Jack (Shirley) Dowd; sister, Sister Jamesetta Dowd and daughter-in-law Cheryl.

Marge is survived by her sister, Bonnie (Louis) Cooper; son, Harold “Bud”; daughters, Jean Ann (Rick) Ruhanen, Mary Pat (Robert) Firestone, Colleen (Thaddeus) Latka, and Nancy (Bob) Delancey; grandchildren, Tracy Hildebrand, Mrs. Tara Drees, Mrs. Holly Johnson, Bridget Higgins, Heidi Willard, Jessica Levendowski, Chad Levendowski, Katie Seehus, Andrew Latka, Josh Latka, Brittany Latka, Nathan Ruhanen, and Noah Ruhanen; great-grandchildren, Megan, Ross, Austin, Drew, Emily, Michael, Tyler, Alexis, Peter, Dylan, Ashley, Kelsey, Jordyn, Austyn, Hannah, Brielle, Wyatt, Colton, Jackson, and Sydney.

Pallbearers are Nathan and Noah Ruhanen, Josh and Andrew Latka, Chad Levendowski and Carey Seehus.

Visitation 10:00 until 11:00 Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, March 15 at St. James Catholic Church 721 N. Central Ave. Duluth.
