

He grew up in Clintonville, WI, where he graduated from high school in 1982. Later he moved to Appleton where he met his best friend and soulmate, Jean Marie Albers. On June 24, 1988 they were married in Green Bay, WI. On their honeymoon they circled Lake Superior and fell in love with the Northshore. Together they raised two boys, Kyle and Dalton. In 2003 they fulfilled their dream to live on the Northshore and moved to Two Harbors.
Mitch’s life aspiration was to explore every inch of the Boundary Waters, and he lived to spend time outdoors. He enjoyed mountain biking, wilderness camping, canoeing, hiking, and listening to music.
He was a Journeyman Electrician, working for Benson Electric in Superior, WI.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 27 years, Jean; two sons, Kyle and Dalton; grandchildren, Samara, Eben, and their mother, Christine; parents, James and Gloria; two sisters, Wendy Krause and Julia (Claus) Michelsen; grandmother, Helen Geiss of Seymour, WI; father and mother-in-law, Dan and Mary Albers; sister-in-law, Lisa (Dick) Finch; brother-in-law, Brian (Kelly) Albers; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Bell Brothers Funeral Home, Duluth. Interment will be in Silver Creek Town Cemetery at a later date.
