Ruby Kirsten Thilmany

She was born October, 1916 in Crosby, N.D. to George and Esther Johncox. Ruby graduated from Denfeld High School in 1934. She married Harold “Bud” Thilmany in May of 1941 in Duluth. Together they lived in Bay View Heights where they raised three sons. Bud and Ruby loved traveling together, camping and socializing with their many friends. Ruby was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She had a great smile for everyone, loved the Lord, loved music, loved to laugh and brightened any room she was in.

She was preceded in death by her husband, grandson David; brothers, Fred H. and Arthur W. Johncox; and sister, Grace Bothun.

Ruby is survived by sons; Gerald (Margaret) of Duluth, Ronald (Dorothy) of Cloquet, Randy (Jennyann) of San Jose, CA; grandchildren; Allan (Jennifer) Thilmany, Sarah (Kirk) Bustrom, Mike Becker, Kristen (Cameron) Tario, Ryan Thilmany; 9 great grandchildren; a special niece, Barb Ward, and several nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to the loving staff from Edgewood Vista for the care they gave our mother.

Visitation: 1 pm until the 3 pm Funeral Service on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Bell Brothers Funeral Home, 601 N. 56th Ave. W., Duluth with Pastor James Joseph officiating. Burial will be at Oneota Cemetery in the spring.
