Shawn Alan Burr

Shawn was a 1994 graduate of Duluth Denfeld High School. Shawn also attended Duluth Business University and graduated in 2001 with a degree in Accounting. He went on to work at United Health Care in 2003 until the present.

In 2008, Shawn met the love of his life, Samantha Malec, and the two were married on July 24, 2010. In 2013, Shawn and Samantha welcomed their daughter, Adeline Teresa Burr into this world. Shawn was happiest when he could be with his family. When he wasn’t with his family, Shawn enjoyed storm chasing, listening to music, and playing his guitar. Music was a large part of Shawn’s life. He was an active member of the Denfeld High School Jazz Band, a member of the band “Relapse” and founder of the band “Malec.”

Shawn was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Adeline Burr, and Leona and Edwin Nelson.

Shawn will be dearly missed by his wife, Samantha and their daughter Adeline. Also mourning this loss are his parents Michael and Sheila; siblings, Tim Burr, Matt (Morgan Moen) Burr, Melissa Burr; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Terri and Jason Malec; sister-in-law, Lindsey (Tony) Scherber, niece, Olivia; and brother-in-law, Jake Malec; many friends including, Kevin Malec, Chris Malec, Tony Bennett, Nick Hunter, Ryan Baker, Josh White, Will Stensby, Tom Anderson, Tim Jorgenson, Dug Patnaude, and special family friends, the Nortons; and many more friends and family.

Visitation: 10:00am until the 11:00am Memorial Service, Friday, April 22, 2016 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Inurnment will be in Oneota Cemetery.
