

She was born October 19, 1925 to Earl and Jennie Coleman in Springvale, MN. She graduated from Cambridge High School, attended Bethel College in St. Paul, and graduated from Mounds Midway School of Nursing in 1947. In 1950 she married George L. Julien, and they made their home in Duluth where they raised their family.
At various times she worked at California Lutheran Hospital, Duluth Clinic, St. Luke’s Hospital, and Lakeshore Lutheran Home. She was a long time member of former Bethel Baptist Church, and now is a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Shirley lived for the Lord and serving her family was the joy of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband, George in 1994.
She is survived by two sons, Daniel (Francis); and Douglas; Six daughters: Janet (Steven) Johnson, Jennifer (Charles) Danielson, Joanne (Joseph) Hamilton, Susan, Sally (Stan) Stephenson, and Laurel (Michael) Warner. Also, 17 grandchildren: Melanie, and Martin Julien; Matthew, Tad, Austin (Janelle) and Caitlin Johnson; Matthew Danielson; Natasha (Matthew) Anderson, Emily, and Jessica Hamilton; Shayna (Brian) Johnson, Noel (Ben) Hayes, and Kayla Stephenson; and Lacie (Von) Rodina, Ashley (Chad) Schmidtke, Josiah, and April Warner; and 12 great-grandchildren: Martin, Cedric, and Rosalena Johnson; Alex and Evan Rodina; Sawyer Anderson; Elliot, Titus, Eden Johnson, and expected twins; and Henry Hayes.
Visitation: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Funeral Service Monday, Dec. 22nd in Bell Brothers Jarvi Dowd Funeral Home. Pastor David Mork will officiate. Interment will take place at Park Hill Cemetery.
