Anne Margaret Young

December 18, 1916 - February 26, 2013

Mom (Grandma) passed away peacefully at Cairsmore Place in Duncan. She was born and raised in Revelstoke , B.C. where she later married her husband Jack in 1938. They moved to the Duncan area in 1947 where they raised their eight children. She was predeceased by her husband Jack in 1968, her daughter Barbara Ramwell in 1998, her great grandson Mikey Young in 2004, her grandson Wayne Peet in 2005, her grandson Grady Capper in 2008, and her youngest son Raymond in 2012.

She is survived by her daughter Doreen Peet (Larry), son Gerald (Betty), son in law Ken Ramwell (Linda), son David (Jo-Anne), daughter Gloria Cathcart (Russ), son Jim (Sonya), son Wayne (Margy), fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Mom loved to garden, play cards, crochet and cook. Her happiest days were those spent with her family. We will miss you Mom. We will miss your full cookie jar and your great cooking! (especially cabbage rolls, perogies and “goochie balls”).

We would like to thank the residents and staff at Abbeyfield for their friendship and kindness during Mom’s seven years there. We would also like to thank the nurses and staff at Cairnsmore Place for their wonderful care over the past eight months.

A Memorial Tea will be held at First Memorial Funeral Services, 375 Brae Road, Duncan, on Saturday March 9th, 2013 from 2-4 PM. In lieu of flowers, if wishing a donation can be made to a charity of choice.
