Cheryl Mallen

“Entered this world on February 19th, 1940.

Assignment completed June 1st, 2020

Accomplishments, four beautiful children”

Stephanie Marie, Rachelle Aileen, Cody Paul Dennis and Eric Jeffery Mallen. Profoundly missed and deeply loved by her three grandchildren Eden Paul, Grace Olivia and Ava Stephanie Mallen, who were the loves and gems of her life. Mom was born to Grace and William McRae, their only daughter in a family of seven children. She adored her six brothers, William, Don (dec.), Bernie (dec.), Ray, Mark and Vince McRae and all their partners. Our mother and our father, Frank Mallen, grew up together and their families formed lifelong cherished relationships. Mom had deep bonds with all her sisters and brothers-in-law.

Mom was a wonderful, beloved aunt to so many nieces and nephews, a Step mother and grandmother to the Merritt family. She had very close ties with many other families including the Petrie’s, Burns, Elliott's, and her many cousins and dearest friends.

Cheryl walked this earth with beauty, elegance, grace and humility. She had an inspiring entrepreneurial spirit with much success along her path. She operated Beauty Salons and Concord Golf Driving Range and invested in real-estate. Her drive in life was as fierce as her drive in her Golf game. She was a doer and always showed up. She served her loved ones and her community. She volunteered for Hospice, Meals on wheels and Chemainus Axillary Hospital. She was always eager to learn and grow, loved to read, take courses, play sudoku, travel, take road trips and coffee Sunday’s with the “boys”.

Mom we feel so blessed and honored to have been chosen as your children and grandchildren. You are the strongest women and role model we have ever known.

Your passing was so sudden but we take solace in your being at peace, in celebration, with your many loved ones in heaven.

A blessing was held at First Memorial in Duncan B.C. where her children and grandchildren were able to celebrate and honor mom’s passing. There will be a future Service held at “Heavenly Rest Cemetery where mom’s cremated remains will be buried followed by a “Celebration of Life”. This date is to be announced.


