Don passed away peacefully surrounded by family, leaving behind a life well-lived, well-loved, and full of stories worth retelling. A devoted husband, proud father of two, and grandfather of five, he was the cornerstone of a close-knit family who will forever cherish his wisdom, humour, and toast "to the family".
A respected leader in health administration, Don built a successful career defined by dedication, integrity, and a deep commitment to improving the lives of others. Though his professional accomplishments were many, it was his generosity of spirit and genuine interest in people that left the most lasting impression.
Outside of work, his zest for life never faded. A lifelong tennis enthusiast, he continued to play until the age of 88. He could often be found on the golf course or at the bridge table, enjoying the company of friends and sharing laughter. At his beloved Arbutus Ridge home, he delighted in the sweeping views and the vibrant community that gave him such joy.
Those who knew him will remember his contagious smile, his readiness to raise a glass to good company, and his gift for telling just the right story at just the right time. Sharp, kind, and curious to the end, Don inspired everyone around him to live fully, love deeply, and face life’s challenges with humour and strength.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Arbutus Ridge.
