Eileen Mary McKechnie

November 13, 1917 – September 29, 2014

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our Mom. Eileen was predeceased by her husband Ken, in 2001, her daughter Jean in 1999, and her daughter-in-law Joanne in 2012. She leaves behind her sons Wes & Robert McKechnie, daughters Mary (Doug ) MacDonald, & Doris (Randy) Mutch. Grandchildren Jim (Jan), Janice (Paul), Jackee (Darrell), Julie (Davin), Peter (Janet), Bob (Crystal), Carla (Dean). Great Grandchildren Jacob, Trent, Aaron, Raven, Chayla, Kazuki, Kenta, & Logan. Her sister Margret & Sister-in-Law Hazel, also many Nieces and Nephews.

Eileen was born in Weyburn Sask. and moved to B.C. at the young age of 3. She lived in the Fraser Valley until 1965 when the family moved to Caycuse. In 1977 Ken & Eileen moved back to the family home in Dewdney. Mom & Dad spent their time after retirement, enjoying family visits, traveling, gardening and playing endless hours of cards. In 2001 she moved to Lake Cowichan to be closer to family. She was there 10 years until her failing health forced a move to Chemainus.

Mom was a beautiful lady inside & out. She was a very kind and gentle soul who loved to laugh. She dedicated her life to her family and has left us with wonderful memories. She will be missed dearly.

We would like to thank all the workers at the Chemainus Health Care Center for the wonderful care you gave our Mom in her final years.

There will be no service at her request. The family will gather at a later date, to honor & celebrate our Mom’s life.
