Ian Ernest Jones

Ian passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on September 28, 2014, surrounded by his family.

He was a devoted Christian, an avid reader, and caring family man – fondly remembered for his gentle, quiet nature, and his fun sense of humour.

Predeceased by his parents, Bertram (1975) and Marjorie (1986) Jones, and his eldest daughter, Sonia (2007). Born on October 30, 1922 in Northampton, UK. He married Delia Andrews in 1952, and immigrated to Canada in 1958, moving to Duncan in 1959. He enjoyed his career in the shoe business for over 36 years.

His family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Cairnsmore Place for their loving care of Ian, particularly in his final hours. Thanks also to Dr. Gilbert & Dr. Adnams.

Survived by his loving wife Delia, his brother Gordon and family, his children Oliver (Janet) Jones, Rod Jones, Alison (Walt) Thiessen, Cam (Ruth) Jones, Bruce (Mindy) Jones; son in-law Gord (Shannon) Kosolofski; 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life and tea will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, October 11th at Calvary Baptist Church, 3318 River Rd, Chemainus, BC. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Camp Imadene, 9175 S. Shore Rd., Mesachie Lk, BC V0R 2N0 or to the Gideons ([email protected])
