

Sharp, Larry (Larry the left handed logger) Born in Comox,B.C. and was raised on Denman Island in the Union Bay Area. Larry fought a long courageous battle with cancer and passed away on October 16th at home surrounded by his loving wife, children and grand children. Survived by his wife Brandy, his daughter Debra Desjairlais her two children Melanie and Brandon, his daughter Chole(Peter) Deerenburg, son Dennis Sharp and his son Colton, Larry’s sister Irene Anderson and sister- in-law Dolly and family. Predeceased by Brother Norman.
Larry and his wife Marjorie (passed away in 2001) bought the family farm on Wilson Road in 1971 where the raised their children and still resided there until his passing.
Larry worked in the Queen Charlotte Islands and then worked at Weyerhaeuser Shawnigan Division for 28 years as a Logging Truck driver until he retired. Thank you to all the Angels at VIHA, especially Lynda and Joanne, Dr Grimes and Manns Pharmacy and all the Hero’s at the Home Support, especially scheduling. Thank you to Daljit Dharwal (at Work Safe). A Celebration of life will be held at First Memorial Funeral Service, 375 Brae Road, Duncan on Saturday Oct 22nd at 2pm with a reception to follow in our Heritage hall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the B.C Discovery Forest Museum or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
