Hello Gail, Barry, Joanne and families......
I am so sorry that I cannot attend your goodbye's to your Mom (Lois)to-morrow but age is sneaking up on me.....so many wonderful memories of Lois over 67 years .....saving Susan from getting thrown out with the baby bath water  !!!! costume parties, fun, fun ,fun so much laughter....their door was always open.....I often wondered where we all slept ???? we will miss her friendship, dedication, love, always looking on the bright side and there were some not so bright....I am going to pass on a poem by Henry Van Dyke.
Gone from my sight.
I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.  She is an object of beauty and strength.   I stand and watch her, until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other...someone at my side says,  "There, she is gone!"      Gone where ?      Gone from our sight.  That is all.. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left our sides ,and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.    Her diminished size is in us, not in her.  And just at the moment when someone at our sides says, "There, she is gone !" there are other eyes watching and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes ".
and watch out you will all be organized Immediately !!!!

I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom.  I have so many wonderful memories of time spent with your mom and dad and of you course you guys too!!!....As young kids we couldn't wait to have a visit with 'Auntie Lois' and Uncle Doc'.  I'll always remember the laughter and fun times at the family home in Koksilah.
Thinking of you all (I won't be able to make the celebration as will be away) but you will be in my thoughts.

To the family of Lois Evans. Many years ago I moved to Koksilah. Myself and my children Spencer and Shayna walked up to the general store to pick up our first general delivery mail. There was a woman watering her flower baskets in the front of her house. She struck up a conversation and suggested I run home and get the children's swimming suits and before I knew it they were frolicking in her pool and munching on fresh baked goods. This was the kind of lady that I will always  remember. Always going the extra mile. Huge supporter of the old Koksilah school as well. Doc was an amazing person too. Our condolences.

I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to meet Lois, albeit it was when she was older.  I heard many funny stories about her younger days and was always entertained by them.  
When I think of you, Lois, you are always smiling, welcoming and so very kind.
Rest in  Peace now.  I hope you are on the dance floor again.

Lois was friends with my parents before I was born and was there throughout my life, always cheerful, helpful and happy to see every one that came to visit her. Over the years when I needed someone to talk to she was always there for  me with her good advise and help in whatever way she could. I will never forget the pleasure I got forom talking to her and visiting her for all my life. SHe was a really grgeat lady and will be missed by all who knew  her.
