A very aggressive cancer stole a vibrant life, earthly soul and dignity from a lady, beautiful in body and spirit, who was loved by all who had the great fortune and experience in meeting her and getting to know her. She was a very caring person reaching out to all people spreading her presence out as a beacon of light and rays of warmth to all and especially an equal characteristics to all animals.
She was born in Australia to her predeceased parents Annie May and Victor Albert Stringer, she Irish and he English. Her early years were rather nomadic, marked with frequent travels and residences between Ireland, England, Australia and Canada. Her last 40 years were spent in Canada full time. In her early years she travelled widely vacationing.
She was an accomplished Soprano appearing in Musicals, Operas and Theatre - a past time spreading over many years. In later years she became a very accomplished photographer sharing this endeavor with her husband.
She is survived by her husband Neil (Australian) who had the greatest privilege on earth sharing 44 precious years in her shadow and enjoying a great life together, only ever apart for an infrequent day or two for the whole of this time. She leaves him behinds with a treasure trove of memories and she will be forever present in his heart.
She is also survived by her step daughter Elizabeth (Rick) - in Canada -whom she took under her wing and showered her with love and support under somewhat challenging circumstances. Also, by her step son Andrew Fatin (Meredith) and their five children - Jex, Gabriel, Usher, Ellia and Sylvie in Australia. By her sister Sylvia Greenwell (Bill) her nephews, Kelly Greenwell (Gail) and family, Brady Greenwell (Sylvia) and family and the very extensive in-laws, all the Greenwell families. By extended families in Ireland and England. She is also survived by a great many friends.
In her very sad and challenging last days she was surrounded by families and very numerous friends in person and by friends from afar who could not be with her in person (but in correspondence). She was comforted by this and Neil is/was tremendously thankful for this. in making her passing knowing she was loved.
She has now been returned to the cosmos from whence she came and will look on us from afar. She will eventually be reunited with Neil (in the not too distant future). Goodbye for now to my longstanding love and soul mate, you know you left the planet deeply loved. Your gentle “touch” and spirit will remain with all of us forever.
A special thank you and great appreciation to Dr Mark Sanders, Jessica Marr (and staff), to all the Oncology staff at the BC Cancer Agency in Victoria and Duncan and to the staff at Cowichan Hospice House Duncan for the professional services and more importantly their caring and compassion – a valiant fight, but lost to an aggressive and resilient adversary.
In your journey through to eternity, may the road before you rise up and greet you and the cosmic winds be at your back.

A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
