

Mildred "Milly" Adeline Folk - (nee Souther) was born in Bengough, Saskatchewan Sept. 20, 1925 to Hazel (Thompson) and Winifred Souther. She was born into a large family of 10 children: Edward, Cliff, Milly, Leonard, Leroy, Walter, Lorraine, Don, Marie, Rosella.
Milly married John Joseph Folk in 1944 and he predeceased her in April 2010. Milly and John had 5 Children and 1 Foster Son: David Leroy, Jerry John, Marion Hazel, Cathy Ann, Randy Allen Winifred, and Dennis Hutchison.
Milly and John moved to BC in 1948 and raised their Children in Surrey/Cloverdale BC. Milly loved spending time with all her family, siblings, relatives, nieces and nephews and 13 Grandchildren:
Lori, Lana, Leah, Stacy, Nicole, Casey, Chialle, Cherie, Riley, Ashley, Brittany, Courtenay, and Delaney.
Milly was a Foster parent for many years and loved telling stories of times with her foster kids. She truly enjoyed having visitors and playing cards with friends and family. Milly and John operated a farm in Cloverdale for many years and Milly ran a concession stand at Cloverdale Community Center. She also loved volunteering at the local Thrift Store.
Milly and John moved to live in Logan Lake along with daughter Marion for a few years and after John’s passing, she moved to Vancouver Island to be closer to her son’s David and Jerry.
Milly passed away peacefully at Cowichan Lodge, Duncan, B.C. on March 25,2019 at 10:00pm.
She left a legacy of fond memories with all who knew her and particularly with her loved ones.
