In loving memory of Peter Edward Laming who passed away comfortably on 08 April 2015 with family at his side at Cowichan District Hospital. Peter was born near Den Hague in the Netherlands 03 October 1922. Peter leaves Ruth (nee Collyer) his wife of nearly 63 years, children Raymond (Ann), Stephen (Liu Yang), John, & Karen Simmerling (Harald), 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Peter lived an adventurous life working as a saw-filer at saw mills in Sweden and in Victoria with BC Forest Products as well as a trolley bus driver in Portland Oregon. In Victoria he met and married Ruth on 14 June 1952. Peter and Ruth started a
"shady business" as they often referred to it, P.E. Laming Co. to make lampshades and later changed the name to Laming Lights that included making lamps, chandeliers and everything to "Light Up Your Life".
Pete and Ruth had numerous travels with their sailboats, motor home (Their favourite times) and small airplanes. They also made several trips to Europe to visit relatives and see the historical sites.
At Peter's request, there will be no service.
