Raymond Ralph Empey

Ray, age 80, passed away Jan 2, 2013 at Cowichan Bay B.C. Survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 59 years, Marie. Also survived by daughter Louella Therrien, son Richard Empey (Lynne) and grand children Alison Therrien, Lucas Empey and Garrett Empey, brother Robert Empey (Dorothy), sister Pearl Bahan (Walter), sister in laws Alice Empey, Mae Empey and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by seven brothers and four sisters. Ray was born in Swalwell Alberta and lived in Alberta until 1965 when he moved his family to Vancouver Island. Ray had a broad range of careers including business ventures in construction, farming and the development of water supply and drainage projects. He will be well remembered as an avid gardener and his love of machinery. He enjoyed meeting people and engaging in conversations with those he met through business and travel.

A Celebration of Life to be held at Three Hills Ab Community Centre on Jan 19th at 1:30 pm. If you wish, in lieu of flowers consider a donation to the Salvation Army or Cowichan District Hospital Foundation.
