

. Albert Bonilla passed away on Wednesday evening, the 13th of April 2016, at the age of 86. Albert was born on the 31st of May 1929 in Calvert, Texas and lived in the Dallas and Duncanville area for the past 55 years. Albert graduated from Calvert High School and attended Baylor University. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He spent his 50 year career in the furniture and design business and owned his own furniture and drapery shop in Duncanville for many years. Al was a member of Kiwanis and the North Texas Media Coordinator for LULAC in Dallas, from 1979-1983. Al was a born salesman. He was passionate about pleasing his customers and always wanted to make others feel special. He took pride in his shop and the work they produced. Albert is Survived by his wife, Sara Bonilla; sons, Berry Bonilla, Christopher Bonilla and Jason A. Bonilla; daughters, Nita Bonilla Overton and Robin Bonilla Proctor and his step-children; J. Michael Richardson, Tod Brandenburg, Jill Brandenburg, Yarazet Vega, and Alvaro Vega. He has numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Julie Bonilla, his son, William Gerard "Gerry" Bonilla and his parents Mr. & Mrs. Ruben Bonilla Sr. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00, with a rosary at 7:00 pm on Wednesday evening, April 20, 2016, at David Clayton & Sons Funeral Home, 200 W. Center Street Duncanville, Texas 75116. A mass will be held at Holy Spirit Church, 1111 W. Danieldale Rd., Duncanville, Texas 75137, on April 21, 2016 at 10:30 am., followed by the burial, 1:30 pm, at the Dallas –FT. Worth Veterans National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.
