Mary Kathryn Reed Pickens

Mary Kathryn (Reed) Pickens Mary K. Pickens, 87, of Duncanville, Texas died on April 16, 2016 at Parsons House Preston Hollow in Dallas. Mary was born on October 9, 1928 in Smiths Ferry, Pennsylvania to Raymond C. Reed and Mabel (McCoy) Reed, was raised in East Liverpool, Ohio and attended East Liverpool High School (Class of 1946). She and her husband of 55 years, Frank Pickens, were married in East Liverpool and later moved to Uvalde, Texas where they lived until he retired from the Uvalde Leader-News. After Mary retired from Southwestern Bell they moved from San Antonio to the Dallas area. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brothers John and Frank Reed, her husband, Frank, and twin grandchildren Bradley Raj and Arya Asha Pickens. She is survived by son Frank Pickens II, his wife Rena Shrestha Pickens, their son Greyson Raj Pickens, all of Duncanville, and several nieces. Arrangements are by David Clayton & Sons, 200 W Center St, Duncanville, TX 75116. Inurnment will be at the DFW National Cemetery so that she and her husband Frank can be together again. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, May 21st at Parsons House Preston Hollow, 4205 West Northwest Hwy, Dallas, TX 75220.
